Orissa Again Under Attack

August 26, 2008 - Once again Evangelicals and Catholics in the Kandhamal District of Orissa State have come under attack. The motivation is unclear, but a group of burgeoning communist insurgents is suspected of attacking and killing Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) leader, Swami Laksmanananda Saraswati and four of his associates on Saturday, August 23, 2008. Urgent Need for Burma’s Children

August 15, 2008 - Children and orphans are now a primary concern for ministries in Burma. An estimated 2,000 children were orphaned due to Cyclone Nargis. The parents or a remaining parent of other children were severely injured or traumatized. Read more.

Earthquake Impacts China’s Ministries

August 8, 2008 - Freddie Sun, Director of the China Division at Christian Aid, has received several reports on how the worst earthquake in three decades has impacted indigenous ministries assisted through Christian Aid. The epicenter of the 8.2 magnitude earthquake in Sichuan Province radiated outward, causing disturbances to areas as far-reaching as Taiwan and Beijing. Read more.

Muslims attack villagers to force conversions in Chad

July 18, 2008 - Last weekend, a group of Muslim radicals raided a village in southern Chad in an effort to forcefully convert all to Islam. They burned down four churches and 150 houses, and killed several people. This is a huge threat to the fledging Church in our country. Read more.

China Earthquake Impacts Mission Projects

May 15, 2008 - On Monday, May 12, a 7.9 magnitude earthquake occurred in Sichuan Province in China. The earthquake shocks reached Beijing (3.8 in magnitude) and Taiwan, 1,000 miles away. Over 18,000 people died; many thousands more are feared dead. A Christian orphanage and several Bible schools were affected. Read more.

May 6, 2008 - In the midst of the chaos wrought by Cyclone Nargis this weekend, it is estimated that the death toll has doubled since yesterday. Rangoon, the commercial capital of the country, was devastated by the storm. Hundreds of thousands of people in Burma are now without shelter or clean water to drink. Read more.

Christians in Kenya Remain Scattered

Apr. 24, 2008 - In four districts of Kenya, several thousand of our church members have been scattered throughout the country. This is all the members of 60 of our churches.
