From the Field: Live Report from Christian Aid Overseas Director Traveling in Islamic Nations
Gaza Conflict Produces Riots and Unrest Throughout the Muslim World.

Christian Aid received this report:
Greetings,
"I have just come from visiting indigenous underground missionaries in two Islamic nations. I will not name them or myself for security reasons. In both countries, soldiers and police were stationed at every intersection in both large and small cities with frequent police checkpoints in between. All had military rifles in hand, not holstered.

"In one country, I could not leave my room except VERY quickly and secretly to leap into a car with darkened windows.
"The tension is a result of the conflict between Israel and Palestine. Irate headlines filled the papers, and angry rhetoric blasted from every TV and radio. Enraged mobs materialized to express hatred against Israel and the US.

"One of the missionaries I visited hastened me off the street and into the house where I was staying. He made sure I was locked safely away. As I watched from my window, hundreds of infuriated demonstrators ran down my street looking for foreigners crying (in Arabic), "Death to Israelis. Death to Americans." Of course, it was not I they were shouting about, but it wouldn't have been a good time to meet up with them or have them see me. I am staying a bit off the main drag, but not by much and am in a good (relatively speaking) neighborhood.
"The pictures show the riots, the blockades, teargas and fires from that one instance.
"I thank God for His protection for His people who live and minister in such a violent and volatile, hostile and dangerous environment."
