As a Christian Aid supporter, you are well-acquainted with the cost effectiveness and faithful work of native missionaries worldwide. Why not spread the word? Christian Aid is looking for those who are willing to use a portion of their time to help indigenous missions spread the gospel of Christ among unreached people groups.
There are many ways to get involved, depending upon your gifts, interests and available time.
- Tell your Christian friends about Christian Aid and indigenous missions.
- Host a meeting or dinner in your home, and present Christian Aid’s 25-minute DVD about indigenous missions.
- Distribute magazines and other Christian Aid literature.
- Ask people if they would mind receiving information about indigenous missions by mail and then notify Christian Aid. A one-year subscription to Christian Mission quarterly magazine is available upon request.
- Visit your church’s missions committee or missions pastor. Inform them about the excellent stewardship opportunity of giving to indigenous missions. For example, 10 native missions can be assisted for $500 per month.
- Discover if your church, or other area churches, would be interested in having a speaker from Christian Aid introduce the concept of indigenous missions.
- Ask your family and friends if they would be interested in assisting a native missionary for $50 a month or a child for $20 a month. Christian Aid can supply you with sponsorship brochures.
- Find a missions conference to attend and set up a Christian Aid booth. Many churches and Christian colleges host regular missions conferences. Christian Aid can ship a display and literature to you.
- Choose a specific item, such as Bibles, bicycles or church buildings, that would help to make the ministry of a native missionary more effective and encourage other believers to contribute toward this need.
- Hold a fundraising event. One particular Christian Aid supporter is a musician who held a concert for the benefit of indigenous missions.
- Host a native missionary in your home and arrange speaking engagements for him or her in local churches or other Christian groups.
For those volunteers who are most committed to using their time to represent Christian Aid, we recommend a visit to our headquarters in Charlottesville, Virginia for an orientation and training session.
